I didn't start wearing makeup till I was 17 I believe, can't remember back that far, lol. I have a daughter that is 10. Maybe this sounds old fashioned, but I believe a girl should be taught to make the most of her natural beauty. Growing up too fast in this day and time can be dangerous especially with the fact that they are maturing so quickly physically nowadays. She wears alittle bit, but only in natural colors. Nobody wants a girl that looks like a racoon.

Probably 11(5th grade), but it was all glitter makeup. Like way back when you could go to bath and body works and they had a kids line of stuff like that. I didn't start wearing real makeup until the start of 7th grade(13) and my mom took me to a Estee Lauder booth and hooked me up with tips and real makeup and showed me how to not put so much on, etc.
I don't have any kids but if I was put in the situation I would do what my mom did take them somewhere professional and have them do there makeup and show them how to do it properly so they don't go overboard at there age. And also not buy them too much. And at the minimum 7th grade, just whenever the daughter would approach me about being interested in it. I would never force it on them like some mothers do.

I started wear makeup when I was around 13. Then I found it to be too much of a hassle and didn't start up again until I was around 16-17.
If I had a daughter and she asked me if she could start wearing makeup, I would probably explain to her how incredibly lucky she is to not HAVE to wear makeup. Maybe let her wear lip gloss or something.

Danica must be naive to think that she could stop any girls she has wearing makeup until they are 18!!!!
I started at about 11 - a teeny bit of my big sister's silver eyeshadow.
I have 2 daughters. I let them wear makeup for parties at home and school disco etc from about 10. I monitored what makeup they wore until they were about 14.

I was 11, when I started wearing lipstick, then eventually Foundation and powders and then finally I was 14 when I started to wear eye-makeup (I was opposed to it before that).
And when I have daughters, I think I will let them wear it when they really start to care about that sort of thing. Possibly at the beginning of middle school. I have no doubt my mind will change about this when I actually do have daughters, though.

I started at the same time as my stage career, 15.
With the exception of special days like Halloween, my daughter won't be allowed to wear daily make up until she's in high school and then only on a limited basis.
Too many young girls are made to appear older through make up and end up with attention they don't know how to handle.
