Do you have a hard time sleeping at night when on adderall? What time of the day do you take it?

I'm treating my ADD with Adderall. It works well, but i have a hard time sleeping. Maybe i'm not taking it early enough. What time of the day do you take it? How many times a day do you take it?
I take mine dosage once a day and its around 10:00 a.m. or later.

Any suggestions to help me sleep while on adderall? Like take it early way early in the morning?

Adderall is a mixture of four drugs (salts) that metabolize at different rates. In most adults, Adderall's half life is about 10-13 hours.

If you take it earlier (first thing when you wake up) you should see an improvement in your ability to fall asleep. I take 30mg of Adderall around 7am during the week and 9am on the weekends.

If that does not help, check with your doctor about your dosage. It could be to high.

Here are some other tips:
- No more caffine
- Do not eat before bed
- Do not watch TV or be on the internet 2 hours before bed. They are hyperstimulants.
- Try doing some gentle stretching, meditation or yoga before bed.

When you get to that page, do a Find on the word "insomnia" to see if others who have tried the medication have had trouble with insomnia and what they have done about it. If that doesn't help, go to any pharmacist and ask them what to do. Usually a pharmacist will answer questions even if you don't get your medication from them because it's ultimately good for their business.
