Santa lives at the North Pole ...
JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh ...
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year ...
JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies ...
JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited ...
JESUS stands at your door and knocks,
and then enters your heart when invited.
You have to wait in line to see Santa ...
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap ...
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is
"Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?" ...
JESUS knew our name before we were born...
Not only does He know our name,
He knows our address too.
He knows our history and future and
He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly ...
JESUS has a heart full of love
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO ...
JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry" ...
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you."
Santa's little helpers make toys ...
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts,
repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but ...
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree ...
JESUS became our gift and died on a tree....
The cross.
Put Christ Back In Christmas...
Jesus Is Still The Reason For The Season!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Yes Christmas is about the birth of the Christ child and what he represents- goodness, helping others, peace, love , joy.
Santa Claus is based on the poem the Night Before Christmas which came out in the 1800s by Clement Moore. It was probably based on the story of the original St. Nickalaus, who gave three poor sisters gold coins so that they might marry well and have a dowry. From that time on people gave others little trinkets and gifts.
Moore write the Night before Christmas and it became so popular that Cocoa Cola in the early 30s created a Santa much like Moore's description to sell their product during the Christmas season. The original Miracle on 34th street helped popularize Santa Clause around the world.
In an ad in Canadian Living this month there was a picture of Jesus with a little chinese child sitting on his lap holding a candy cane and little children lined up to see him, like they would Santa.
I didn't know what to think at first and then thought of the old song Some children see him having faces like their 's and I thought you know that's a really interesting ad.

santa claus is based in fact someone help me out cause i am going to get the story wrong but here goes:
I believe he originated in Holland a very long time ago, Yes he was a toymaker and once a year he did travel by a sleigh pulled by reindeer (that was thw common beast of burden just like we use horses) no they did not fly. Anyway once a year he would travel to the village and deliver his homemade toys. He just happened to have a beard and was big (and jolly one would have to suppose). Fact becomes folklore.Folklore becomes legend. over the years this story grew. I dont know when the Catholic church made Nicolaus a saint but you do have to be dead. Anyway thechurch made him a Saint. Thus Saint Nickalaus or Santa Claus. Thats the short version of the story. The rest you know very well. Santa has become an icon symbolizing the joy of giving.

In Europe years and years they had a Father Christmas. I don't know the background or how it got started. Somehow in America he turned into Santa Clause. He is a gift giver supposedly anonymous like Jesus gives us spiritual gifts and answers privately. The gift giving represents the gifts the Three Wise Men gave at Jesus birth.
Unfortunately many children don't even know the reason we celebrate Christmas. How sad. It has become an extravaganza for giving gifts and saying Merry "Christ"mas.

The story of Santa Claus was derived from the Christian Saint Nicolas. He became the "Santa Claus" we know today through a Coca-Cola Ad in the early 1900's. It evolved after that and became today's commercial holiday.

The Santa Claus story was based on Saint Niclaus who was always giving things to children and the needy.
There is a story that he threw some gold into this poor persons house so they would find the gold and use it to help them; well the gold is said to have landed in some wet socks (or stockings) hung before the fireplace to dry; and gold landed in one of the socks.

Santa started as a Saint... You know, St. Nick... And Santa is great for all of us who don't really believe in the Christian faith but still love Christmas. It's a wonderful time for family and friends, Santa just represents the fact that giving without acknowledgement can be a wonderful thing, it feels great just to give without receiving recognition.
