Is it safe to say that most people in their 40s/50s would enjoy The Essential Bob Dylan album?

I think most would like Bob Dylan. You may want to think about Paul Simon as well. I don't think I ever met anyone who didn't like him.

Probably, but I personally don't care for Bob Dylan and I'm close to 50.

Depends on the person.... I HATE Bob Dylan & so does my husband....
