"All by Myself" is a power ballad written and performed by Eric Carmen in 1975 that has spawned numerous cover versions. It borrows heavily from Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor. Carmen's full version has an extended piano solo and lasts seven minutes. In a 2006 poll for the Channel 5 program Britain's Favourite Break-up Songs, Eric Carmen's version of this song was voted seventeenth

i don't no but Ive just heard somebody sing it on x factor and i cant bring a voice from the past or present or a thousand years in the future get any where near or close to this voice thats just gone through my bones and soul and it me with emotional power . patty labelle gets there but liona should sing for the world.

there's a song written by Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day called "All by myself" it is a hidden track on the Dookie CD, is at the end of FOD, the last song, the lyrics goes kinda like this:
