To properly mate betas your going to have to remember you may loose the female if you are not fast enough.

1. Wait for the male to make a bubble nest at the top of the tank.
2. Add female the male will take eggs from her and put them in the bubble nest 1 or 2 times.
3. Then he goes in for the kill and kills the female, so you should remove her asap after he takes the eggs or seperate them before she gets killed.

Much easier to just buy them from petco or even walmart their selection has gotten much better in my area atleast.

put a male and female in the same tank, they'll do there thing. When they're finished you can take the female out - or she'll just hide. The male is abusive! But he will make a "bubbly nest" for the eggs, and take care of them. If they fall out of the bubble nest though, they won't survive. good luck!

hello, my grandma actually breeds these fish heres what to do...first get a nice looking male and keep the water warm and clean. this way he is happy. wait until he builds his bubble nest at the top of the water. introduce the female and what he will do is actually squeeze the eggs out of her once the eggs are out you will need to remove her because he can get agressive with her also she is a poor mother. she will eat the eggs. the father actually takes care of the nest. this is the way they breed. good luck! ..jewels

just put them together and let them do it. gosh. if conditions aren't right (such as temperature, ph level, etc.) they won't do it.
