That'll be 3 slightly different books because each time you read it, you change by it.

It counts as one book. You can read the same book as many times as you want, but it's still the same book.

I say it is a different book. Every time it was read, the character of the book has changed. It smells different. If looks different. It is worn different. The edges are a bit more frayed. It is not the same book nor will it be the same ever again. It IS only in that moment. After that moment and before that moment it was a different book.

It depends on what you mean. Reading the same book three times over counts as three books' worth of text, and one book worth of knowledge (or amusement).

why does it matter? is there some competition you're involved in? is there a school assignment at isue which has a "books read" requirement? actually, after pondering a bit, i would say that each time you read it you probably "learn something new" or, at least gain some new perspective(s) prompted by the material. so, as a former teacher myself, i would give you credit for 11/2 books ;-)

One book. I've read Romeo & Juliet about 10 times but it's still just one play (I've seen the movie versions many times too but each one is still just one movie!)

:)
