Yes... a lot of laptops have a function key that will allow them to output to a monitor instead of the laptop screen. You may have to change the settings that put the system into standby when you close the screen (maybe not)... If that is your intent I would get a keyboard and mouse that you can use with it also...

first of all you will no longer beable to without breaking it in case you don't be attentive to what your doing. in basic terms plug interior the exterior show screen. If this is a dell hit the Fn key and hit F8 i think of (it is going to say CRT/lcd decrease than the F8 in blue) this could make it flow to the exterior show screen. If that's anothe type seek for a function key (commonly makred Fn) and seek for a blue or different colored key with the two 2 packing boxes next to a minimum of one yet another or CRT/lcd.

You don't have to unplug the screen. Just change the settings, check your diplay settings.
