has a cold.no intrest in fluids.sips occasionally from a cup.not really cranky

try using a sippy cup with some water or formula. he may even drink some very diluted apple juice (1:1).

you can also get Pedialyte - it is meant to help keep children from getting dehydtrated - but talk to your son's doctor first (you can usually get advice over the phone) or a pharmacist.

it comes as a juice and as freezies - the freezies are great when they're teething as the cold numbs the gums and as they melt, they get some fluids into them - but they can be messy - break off a small piece for him to "eat" and sit him in his highchair or better yet, in the bathtub with a couple of easy to clean toys.

ps - being stuffed up, not interested in eating/drinking and cranky could be a cold - could also be teething.

try having him drink from a sippy cup witha spout or straw.kids will drink when they are thirsty..they go through spells when they are having growth spurts..he may even not ne interested in food..

try giving him pedilyte its for dehydration.
