I am getting too much junkmail in my inbox. Is there a way to set a filter up that puts only mail from people in my address book in the inbox and everything else goes into a "junkmail" folder? Thanks for your help.

Mail Rules will not allow this. I would have to know the address of each junkmail sender or keywords that they use.

I wasn't happy with the junkmail filters for outlook so I switched the the Thunderbird email client and it does a real good job blocking junk... at first a bunch got through but as you designate items as junk Tbird learns to identify them and now I only recieve 4-5 junk mail items a week!!!

When you install it will import your settings from outlook express..

Yes. Start up Outlook. Under Tools, choose Message Rules. It has a simple interface to send the junk mail to a folder or simply delete it off the server so you don't have to deal with it. Play with the Message Rules, really a powerful and handy feature. Best of luck, chow.

I'm now using Outlook and have Ella for Spam Control. For Outlook, it's free, but not for Outlook Express. However, when I had Outlook Express, I used Spamfighter, and got it to send the junk mail where I wanted it to go. Trying to set message rules was far too complicated, and like you said, you'd had to know the sender's address. Try it.
