I like having Windows Media Player to watch any videos that I download but recently everytime I try to watch a video which I download it opens in Quick Time Player and not in Windows Media. How can I get Media Player to act as my default player again?

Click Start, point to All Programs, click Set Program Access and Defaults, and then choose the Custom configuration that specifies Windows Media Player as the default media player.

simply right click the required file while holding Shift key down.. In the popup menu take -->Open With option followed by -->Choose program, select the Media Player icon and below tick the check box saying --->Always use the selec........ and Ok. But remember, Media Player often requires different codecs to play different files. So download that too..

Any type of file can opened with this method.., but the application selected should be compatible to handle the file type..
