Because they inspire us to be more than we are. To live up to our full potential. They give us faith that there are good people (or beings) out there that care & are looking out for us...

As a kid, I loved Wonder Woman & the Bionic Woman. They were my idols. I used to run as fast as I could (the fastest runner in my school.) I liked to pretend I had super powers. When other girls were playing house, I was playing heroine. Even as an adult I enjoy movies about superheroes, particularly revenge heroes, ordinary guys who have been wronged & who take it upon themselves to avenge the innocent (for example, Batman Returns, Spiderman).

It's a nice fantasy.

Of course, there are some real heroes out there who make a difference. They don't have super powers but they stand up for what's right.

I'm not quite sure because I think that superheroes aren't that interesting, but hell I'll give it a shot anyway. Maybe because superhero sort of equates to infinity. Normal humans can only go so far and be physically fit to do so much. The idea of infinity makes things more interesting and amazing to humans because its unnatural and gives a sort of hope or something. So, basically because they're super.

Because they have inferiority complex. Superheros were ordinary people once but guess who made them superheros? People suffering from this inferiority complex always try to find someone to follow as if they are afraid in the dark.

The need for salvation is very important. We want and need to be saved from our problems. Problems feature in all our lives, but few people really want them. Or if they do, why? It's far better to stretch yourself in a positive way. Instead of constantly "firefighting", learning new things is what life should be all about.

Finding a way to get rid of our negative problems so we can concentrate on growing and learning.

We all want to be or do something was can't I guess a human with superpowers is a fantasy we like to indulge in. If i could have a superpower i would love to be able to fly, the freedom to go anywhere, when i want. Who wouldn't want that? And what guy wouldnt want x-ray vision, we all know what they would use it for!

Because they can't always do all the things in their lives that they would like to do. Humans dream of something/one that could do it to an extreme.
