It's not a drug... It's just thinking.

Meditation can do nothing but good. It is a POSITIVE state of mind. Meditation can range from intense yoga to even wrapping christmas gifts. Anything that takes you away from the rush rush rush world we live in, and allows you to focus on one thing and be at peace, it considered meditation.

Focusing on deep breathing is one of the best meditations out there, taking a hot bath and just watching the flame of one flickering candle in the dark is also meditation. the only "side effect" is if you are concentrating on negativity. You are what your mind projects. if you project negative, negative will find its way to you.

So my advice is that everyone should take a "timeout" from their day and just daydream. Let your mind wander about nothing. Its a stress reliever, and can help you accomplish your goals by focusing more accurate on those goals! I hope this helps!!!

Meditation is a good mental concentration excercise. You need an object(s) to concentrate your mind to in order to get concentrated. If you focus on the right object (such as breathing movement, loving kindness, etc), you have right attention, then the result is good. If you focus your attention on the wrong object (thoughts of hate, harm, lustful objects, objects of impure imagination, etc.), then you have wrong attention, you are bound to suffer.

The practice of meditation is noble but you have to go on the right path.

Yes, depending upon what kind of medication, it could be as simple as an upset stomach or diahrea, or worse...kidney or liver damage :(
