I sometimes speak in my sleep and some days ago, my roomates asked me some questions and, in the morning, they told me I answered them (but my biggest problem is that I don't know what they asked me).

So here are my questions :
Is it possible to answer people while sleeping ?

And is it possible to avoid that ? My sleep is often filled with nightmares and I am really scared to reveal to my roomates some parts of my life....such events that would really destroy myself, having already hard to deal with these myself.

Sleep talking and sleep walking occur in the VERY deepest parts of sleep. You are not even dreaming; it doesn't happen in REM sleep.

So I suppose you could do things to make you get a worse night's sleep. Maybe drink some caffeine before bed but I don't expect that that is a great idea.

It might help to get the things you are afraid of sharing with people you know off your chest, so it won't be as forefront in your mind. I've had things I was afraid of revealing too and I'd really like it if you would click an email to me about it. And since I have no idea who you are it could feel fairly safe. To make you feel absolutely sure about whether we know each other, I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. If you don't, touch base with me.

See ya.

My boyfriend does the same thing! I told him he better not ever cheat on me because I can pull it out of him in his sleep. He has no control over his sleep talk and does not remember. I don't try to take advantage of him too much because one time he caught me trying to ask him questions while I thought he was asleep !!!

Get married. Yeah, no escape...she will talk all the time...even when you are at it...even while you are sleeping...

Well, this will solve your initial problem. But it(marriage) will creates a whole set of other problems. :)

it is amazingly hardship-free, many human beings do this, you could tell them that you repeated some words what you had listened in the day time. yet some human beings sleep at the same time as we communicate, it is more desirable risky.
