I've heard that the film is actually seeing its biggest success in Israel! Sacha Baron Cohen is Jewish himself, with family still living in Israel, and the foreign language that he speaks in the film isn't Kazakh but Hebrew! So Israeli audiences understand what he's saying and so are in on the joke.
