Bush is the only President, to my knowledge, who has tried to insert his religious beliefs into laws and Constitutional amendments. Reagan was very religious, so was Clinton, so was Bush 41. But they all understood something Dubya never has, that when governing this country their religion belongs in their home and church, not in the Oval Office. Morals and values do not belong exclusively to the Religous Right. It is easy to apply them without citing your religious basis every chance you get. We're talking about a President who has actually stated that God wanted him to run for President, among other such delusional statements about God talking to him personally.

AAHhhhhhhhhhh..........but these are OUR extremists!!. .well, not mine, for sure. Religious moderates do not go to war with other religious groups. So we need the extremists to push us into the war. They don't have to be Religious. Our current crop seem to be more Ideological extremists who use the cover of religious extremism to cover their real motives. Religion does not necessarily equal spirituality.

Either way, the agenda is the same: accumulation of absolute power for their side. Since I am not part of the Right Wing or its agenda, that power will be taken from me & those like me (& you & those like you) if we let them take it. My belief is we are all better off if the power is shared among us all.

We have more than 2 choices, you know. We can choose to be ruled by Extreme Christians, Extreme Muslims, or any other small group. Or we may choose to share the power more or less equally. I think we are beginning to get the message, considering the results of November's elections.

President Bush is no religious extremist, any more than Clinton was a "left-wing' extremist. He is a politician, who exploits religious manias and animosities within his likely audience of voters and contributors, to enhance his power and to implement his agenda. He will use language and symbols of the so-called "religious right" to popularise his agenda just as his opposite numbers (Democrats) will often use socialist or Marxist egalitariian images and phrases to win votes, gain contributions and to mobilize support for THEIR goals and agendas at the expense of the good sense and financial probity of the American (and many of the world's) people.

Poltiicians are alike. They would cheerfully advocate witchcraft, human sacrifice, cannibalism, communism (or even democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan) if there is an AUDIENCE for such foolishness.

They would ride around town stark naked with a chicken clucking on their heads, if they can win votes and raise their public-approval ratings! They may or may not personally believe in the nonsense that they spout for public consumption. The pity is that the rest of us (normal people) have to be burdened with their absurdities and idiocy.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Because there are no religious extremist in America that wish to behead a person for not being the same religion as they are. Too many people fail to see the real freedoms America has to offer.

I can relate to this. George Bush President of the United States is a man without honor. He has spread shame on America, it's Constitution, and it's People. It is a highly embarrassing situation for every Good American. This Man has spun completely out of control and he needs to be stopped immediately. President Bush has reduced and discounted himself to nothing more then a mere "pedofile" and "War Criminal." No...I did not vote for this man.

The difference is obvious so why even ask? Next time you hear about a car bomb going off, how long will you spend wondering if it's some pissed off 700 club member?

We don't have religious exremists in our govt. Many are deeply religious, none fly planes into buildings or strap bombs around their waists & blow up buses. Do you see the difference?
