Try a smaller, locally owned restaraunt. Usually people who own these establishments work in them dails and know how it is to start from the bottom and work your way up. .

You stand a better chance by going into a locally owned restaraunt and explaining that you have little expereince in the restaraunt and serving industry and you would like to learn the ropes from them. That you would like to hone your skills there.
I
've seen alot of newbies crash and burn by starting out in a larger restaraunt. They get too many tables and have too much to learn in a short period of time. Take it slow in a small place & don't worry about the tips. You'll get regulars that will love you and treat you well!!

tell the prospective employer what you told us, and provide a couple of references who will also say you did that cooking and hosting. Waitresses come and go so there is a job out there for you. There are buffets like Panda Buffet or Piccadilly's (where you just put out the food) and then there are restraunt buffets (where you direct the patrons, take the order and clean the table afterwards like Luby's), then there are others like Denny's (all hours), and most of them are busy during the holidays (and pay tips) so get out there and apply because they are in need of extra help and it would be a good time for you to get experience. If you prefer try a small diner. There are temp agencies around who hire waitresses for New Years and that would be great tips too. If you can remember about mixed drinks, the night spots are great for tips as well. Best of luck to you. Don't pass up this opportunity (right now during the holidays). Just keep applying till someone hires you.

everywhere that has a bar will make you a large number of tip if the archives are pooled. that signifies that on the finished of the evening all the archives are blended and all of us receives a percentage. I used to artwork at TGI Fridays and the pay develop into sturdy because it develop into continuously crowded on the bar, extraordinarily in the time of wearing activities and weekends. ascertain you rather do opt for to be a waitress in spite of the undeniable fact that by means of the undeniable fact that is a messy activity and clientele will be rather rude. I in effortless words ended up waitressing for a million summer season because the clientele were given on my nerves and that i have been given drained of coping with different human beings's foodstuff. haha
