They are probably driving at the posted speed limit and think, since they are following the law that everyone else should also follow the law.

They don't realize that there are two laws, one for the maximum speed limit and the other for not impeding traffic. They just ignore the signs that state "slower traffic merge right".

mmmm hate to bring this up, but ... this is my favorite opinion thingy... people are SELFISH. No one is taught to consider others ... the last 2 generations (yes, mine is at fault) have not been taught that other people matter more than self. People will not wait their turn. People will not look around and go, oh, I'm in the way, maybe I should move (see the 3 ladies and their kids in the middle of the only aisle you need to be in, at WalMart?). People say 'don't talk on the cell in the car' to someone they're talking to on the cell in the car. It's everybody else, it's not ME!

oh well. You get the idea. My opinion only, but there it is. btw - I drove 200 miles yesterday, and the people I saw doing this were mostly 30 and under as near as I could tell. Young looking, anyway. The one that almost pushed me off the road in the middle of a huge road construction thingy didn't look old enough to be out of a car seat, to me!

I honestly believe that some people just don't know that the left lane is for passing. There should be signs posted every mile on the highway that say 65mph right lane....70+ stay to the left.

It's a PASSING lane, not a fast lane. The left lane is for overtaking and left turns ONLY. This is a ticketable offense in fifty states.

Check the speed limit you never said whether they were going the posted speed limit and driving in the fast lane. If yes then they're within they're rights, but if they're going slower than the speed limit allows and driving in the fast lane. People should get pulled over and cited just like the rest of us for speeding. I usually flash my lights or honk my horn . My wife calls it road rage. I call it ignorance on there part. And they deserve the finger.

well my theory is that its either (and no offense meant to any of the following) teen drivers who dont understand the concept of a passing lane, old ladies who cant see over the steering wheel and have no idea where they are, or asians. yep, i hate to be blunt, but thats pretty much it.
