Why do people on this site find it necessary to go into the Gay/Lesbian category...?

I read your previous question and saw how those idiots responded. Sorry that happened. I don't use this site too often anymore because of people like that and it's not just because of the G/L/B/T category. Take a look at any of the parenting categories --especially the newborn/infant category. Parents who are looking for practical advice from other parents who may have had similar experiences with their children very often get scolded, berated and told what horrible parents they are! And you'll pretty much find ***holes all over this site no matter waht the category! Unfortunately there are ignorant jerks who have so little in their lives that they have the time to be hateful and aggressive toward everyone!
These are cowards with no social skills to have any real conversation with anyone face to face and so this is their only way to get attention.

Sorry to hear that is happening.

Some of us don't go there intentionally. Like myself, I just answer questions from the All Category listing and what ever questions that I feel I can answer I do so, without actually paying attention to the category itself.

Some times I get embarrassed when I go back and read what category that I ended up anwering in to....as I would not want one to get the wrong impression of me.

The answers all come up in a big list, that's how you get all the weirdos answering. If Yahoo Answers just had the categories it might improve but you would still get the real weirdos who like to seek out their prey.

Just do your best and ignore them.

Perhaps they have shallow, near meaningless lives and need something to do to prevent them from being bored to the point of suicide. On open forums they can post what they want as long as it is within the guidelines. If it isn't, report them.

you are so right..homophobia is a special topic, they probably are automatically driven to this category with instinctive hatred..i think this is something like classifying countries to generate a ground for the opposite nations (apparent or latent enemies) to be able to talk but also insult, degrade and offend others...such as Israel and Palestine..(the examples may be augmented) i don't think it is any better then here..so people always find themselves sth to fight for...

I asked the same question yesterday! I have no idea, there just shallow people who will lead sad little lives, living in their sad little towns, working in the sad little shops and living sad lives without seeing the world, or FACING UP TO THEIR SEXUALITY!!!!!

because they are ignorant, pathetic losers who were apparently brought up to believe it's OK to hate others just because they are different. just the same as those who hate because someone is a different color or a different religion. most of them hate us all equally! apparently, in their twisted little universe, only people who are white, Christian, heterosexual right-wing conservatives should have any rights, and the rest of us are 2nd class citizens. and what's ever more sad is a lot of them "use" religion to justify themselves. I don't know about you, but I never learned in church/Sunday school when I was growing up that it was OK to hate anyone.
