Jerry Rice, and the sick part is that almost everyone answered the same way. You couldn't get such an overwhelming response to one particular person if you asked who the best RB and best QB were...so I think that says something about Rice.

Jerry Rice, no question. He has an amazing work ethic and studies + he knows a ton about the game and doesn't make stupid mistakes. Also picture this. At the age of 33, when many recievers are slowing down, Jerry Rice set the record for most yards in a season. Second place is Steve Largent. He is similar to Jerry Rice, Just not as talented.

I think the best receiver is Jerry Rice for obvious reasons. But to change things up, I'll say Lance Alworth.
In college, he played running back and returned kicks/punts. That is proof of his athleticism. In his 2nd year in the NFL, he was swtiched to WR and was amazing. He averaged 104 yards a game for his ENTIRE CAREER. Basically, he was a guaranteed 100 yards. He had 5 games of over 200 yards in his career. He also is 2nd all-time for most touchdown receptions in playoff games. That is good.
But the main reason I think he is great, is because a lot of the guys that will be listed were paired with great quarterbacks and with other great wide receivers for much of their careers.
Jerry Rice- had Steve Young and Terrell Owens
Randy Moss- had Culpepper and Cris Carter
Marvin Harrison- had Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne
Terrell Ownes- had Young, Bledsoe, Rice, and Glenn
Michael Irvin- had Troy Aikman
Lance Alworth- had JOHN HADL?
I DON'T EVEN THINK I CAN PRONOUNCE THAT LAST NAME.
Alworth has got to be one of the best all-time

As unoriginal as it sounds, the list begins and ends with Jerry Rice.
Dark horse candidate for #2: Don Hutson. Absolutely dominated the position like few have in any sport. Kind of lost not only because of the amount of time passed but also because when we think of "classic Packers" we think of the Lombardi-era.

I hate to sound like a robot, but how can you not say Jerry Rice is the best? It would be like saying Wayne Gretzky wasn't the best hockey player...

Jerry Rice....SO FAR! I wouldn't be so sure that some of the recievers of today don't surpass him, like Chad Johnson or Marvin Harrison.

You better hope "J_ke" doesnt see this question. He is like the number one Reggie Bush dick rider. He will write an essay on how although Reggie Bush obviously cant rush very well, it would be dumb to put him at wideout. He even tried to compare the situation to LT. Its not the same in any way because LT can catch and run...Rush can just catch.
