For christmas, I'm getting my belly button pierced. I'm nervous cause i talked to some friends, a few said it hurt yet a few said it pinched and a few even said they didn't feel it. I'm curious about how it is done, and what it would feel like! I can handle pain, but i'm not that great at handling it!

As weird as this is, I'm gonna show you a picture, lol.

The thing that looks like scissors in the picture is a small clamp. The end of it (the part on my stomach) is as big as your thumb nail and is in the outline of a triangle. This is used to clamp the skin above your belly button to make sure the needle goes in straight. After the clamp is on, the piercer takes a long, hollow needle and pushes it quickly through the skin, bottom to top (you can see the needle through my belly button in the picture!). After that, they'll leave it in for a quick second and then quickly slide the needle out and the jewelry in.

As far as pain? Doesn't hurt a bit! When the needle goes through you'll feel a pinch, then laugh and go, "Was that is?? I thought it was gonna hurt!"

Just make sure the piercer has you lay down, cleans your stomach, and always wears gloves. They might draw dots on the skin to be pierced to show them where the needle should enter and exit, and they might not.

Hope that helped! lol. :)

Its gonna sounds scary but they take a clamp grab the skin mark it with a marker, take the needle, its kinda large about 14 gauge, think the thickness of the lead in a wood pencil, and push it through fast, it hurts some but not as bad as some people make it seem, after the needle is through, they put the ring in and tell you what to do to have it heal properly, word of advice take vitamins it helps with the healing. It hurts a little, but probably not 1/2 as much as you think it will. It might get a little bruised at first for a couple days (that's normal)

You have to keep it in for a good 3 months without changing jewelery. Make sure you buy good jewelery and that you get it done at a state licensed place of business.

The care is easy, clean with antibacterial soap daily, and Band-aid makes an awesome product that you can use also - it comes in a pump and foam comes out. Also, they will probably advise you to use warm saline solution daily. Also, you must turn it just like you normally would for an ear piercing.

Other than that it's really simple.. it only take a few seconds and it's done!
