Legally, yes.If you did not take the mans given name at the time of ceremony than your given name is still the legal name. But, If you have yourself as Mrs. (what ever it is). Then that is what is issued to the legal courts as your legal name and all.Do you remember if you had it changed on your social security number or not?

Usually when you apply for the license, there is a space to put your maiden name, as well as what your married name will be. Mine asked for both. In order for your name to be legally changed to his, you must apply for a new social security card with your new last name on it. This is for the state of Michigan, however it may be different where you live. Try contacting your local S.S Office, I'm sure they will be able to help you. Good Luck and Merry Christmas

As long as you did not change your maiden name to your husband's last name on your social security card, you're fine. However, if you did change your card and are now divorced, you'll need to change your card before you use your maiden name.

If you never changed your last name then I would assume your maiden name is your name. You would have had to of changed your last name it just doesn't get changed for you. Like for you social security card and things like that you have to change it.

you would of used your maiden name to apply for the marriage license. However, if you never used your husbands name on other legal documents you should not have to change it. God bless****

Your last name is whatever last name you've been using since you were married.
There is a use law that says you can have any name you want as long as the change has nothing to do with fraud and that you use your name of choice consistently.
What's more important is that your SS is attached to your name.
