it shuts off during driving, all the needles jump back and forth. we have changed the coilpack/ module, and a fuel filter. we are in desperate need of advice. we dont know where to go from here. the car has also been taking up to 3-4 timed of trying to start before it does. When you turn the key it sounds like the battery is dead but isn't because it eventually starts, and it sometimes starts with out hesitation. I dont not know if this has anything to do with it shutting off, although i dont believe that it does!! If anyone has sincere advice we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!

I don't know what is under the hood, but this happened to my 2002 Suzuki Arieo

I had to replace my Spark Plugs an Coils (I have 4 coils in my car, one for each spark plug, but most cars have 1 coil and a distributor cap, which u might have to replace.)

BTW after doing this, the problem didn't clear up until about 300-400 miles later (don't know why, but it did fix that problem)

Two places to start––
1) Check the computer for codes. Go here----->

http://autorepair.about.com/library/ts/obd-i/bl-dtcs-17a.htm

...and scroll down below the definition chart for instructions for the procedure and an illustration. It is simple and only requires a paperclip.
If there are codes stored there, you will now have an idea of where to start with your DIAGNOSTICS. Don't just ASSuME that the component is defective. Save a great deal of money, frustration, time and effort by validating the failure BEFORE repair.
2) Be certain that ALL battery connections and cable connections are SECURE. Don't merely look at them, but put a wrench on them all. The description you present sounds as if there is an intermittent loss of power.
Be certain to retrieve the Diagnostic Trouble Codes BEFORE disconnecting the battery. As soon as power is lost by the PCM, the codes will be erased (or rather "not retained" in memory)

Good Luck and Merry Christmas
