Your car or bike does not have to have wing / handlebar mirrors fitted to pass the MOT , but if any forms of mirror are fitted they must meet the appropriate standard.

Yes they are, but they are a bit like rear wiper blades, they are only tested if they are physically on the car when the test is done. IE if you have a broken mirror it will fail, if you have no mirror and no housing no problem

know it sounds a bit daft but thats the way it is

the correct answer is no WING mirrors are not part of a mot .....But DOOR mirrors are if you dont have an internal rear view mirror ... the view must not be obstructed

Your car must have a door mirror on each side, level with the front windscreen, more or less. They must both serviceable! Wing mirrors, if fitted are on the bodywork near the front of the car - you do not have to have them fitted - if they are, however, they must be servicable.

the mot manual states you must have a n/s mirror when veiwed from the drivers seat or a o/s mirror when viewed from the drivers seat or a interior mirror so you only need one it does'nt matter which one

i think you must have a rear view mirror on the screen unless its a van with a bulk head it must have both wing mirrors.
on a car you need a rear view mirror on the screen and a offside mirror or both

you must have 2 mirrors,interior and drivers, or drivers and passengers if no interior, hope this helps
