Yes Kobe is the best basketball player in the history of basketball. He came from high school straight into the NBA, and he has only begun to start his legacy. Obviously, these people who say he isn't, do not watch him play out in the court. I grew up watching basket ball and I also admired Jordan as a teen. Who didn't pretend to be him on the court, but now some one newer and better has taken his place, and Kobe Bryant is and will be much greater than Jordan ever was. Now that Shaq isn't there to help him! Please Kobe does just as good as when Shaq was there. The Lakers have made a great improvement and they have a solid team finally.

Did Kobe ever dunk all the way from the free point line in a game? Did Kobe ever get as many assists as Michael Jordan did? Did Kobe ever bring his team up by 40 points in one quarter? Can Kobe dunk "over" a 7ft guy in a game? Once you've answered these questions, come talk to me. Oh, go to YOUTUBE.COM and type in Michael Jordan. Watch some of his videos.

It is fair to say that both players are/were similar as offensive standouts. They have great moves, the ability to score from any spot and they're both excellent free throw shooters. But one thing that stands out is what each player did for NBA. Michael Jordan singlehandly populated stadiums wherever the Bulls played. There was an absolute craze over MJ, which is something I don't see to the same degree with Kobe.

When Phil Jackson retires, I would love to hear his opinion, because he was there at the peak of both these players! I'll bet he'll say Jordan!!

Its like comparing Jimmy Hendrix and Carlos Santana... You just cant... Jordan will forever be the father of basketball. He was a TEAM player, he didnt try to do it all on his own (even though he could have) where as Kobe is a great player, be that as it may he is a ball hog and isnt a team player. If your able to score more the 94 points a game what is the rest of your team doing? Running up and down the court is all, and thats exactly what Kobe's team members do... Just run and watch him.... If Kobe was around when Jordan was at the peak of his career there is no way that Kobe could even see Jordan. Thats just the way it is...

The best way is to put them side by side 10 years for each and who would you pick?

Kobe Bryant-3 rings (No finals MVP)
1 scoring championship
8 time all-star (1 All-Star MVP)
slam dunk champion

--now look at Jordan in his first 10 years--

Michael Jordan-4 rings(4 Finals MVP's)
10 time all-star (2 All-star MVP)
8 scoring championships
2 time slam dunk champion
4 regualr season MVP's

Screw all of u ****** Kobe is Way better than everybody.Even THOUGH Micheal Jordan has more champions that does not mean he is better. He got those championships because he got ***** help from scottie pippen and Denis Rodman. Kobe is all alone .Micheal got 64 for his career high kobe got 81 and he got 81 in that game because he is the only player who wants to win in that game so he made history. Also even THOUGH Micheal Jordan dunked from the free throw line does not mean He is a better dunker. When u dunk from the free throw line u look gay dunking from it its like only one hand going to the court. Thats a gay a SS dunk. And Last even THOUGH micheal got a higher ppg does not mean he is better that means he is a ball hogger because he can pass it to scottie pippen which is also a good player and Rodman all 3 of them r good. kobe only got himself and he only got 35.4 ppg he passes the ball to his teamates. micheal got both of them and he still got a higher ppg.

NO WAY, there is no way on Earth that he is better!!!!
kobe- an okay basketball player, BUT he is a ball hog.
good 3-pointers, lay-ups dunks, and anything else..but he is still a ball hog....he would be better on a different team, like a team that can score, the Lakers can not score without Kobe or Lamar Odom...

MJ- he is the best!!!!!noone can compare to him

HELL NO. Kobe doesn't even come close to Jordan. Yeah, he's very talented and is one of the best players ever, but no one can be compared to MJ. This question shouldn't even be asked. Maybe when Kobe wins some more rings (but I don't think he ever will get another one now that Shaq's not there to help him), but until then Jordan will kick Kobe's ***.

"better" ...kobe is a better 3 pt shooter , and you could argue other things . Jordan is a more explosive player. Once Kobe wins 4 more nba titles then maybe you could argue that point. But that is the main factor that decides this one for me.
