I know that Bryan Adams sang it, I don't think he did the original. Not to be confused with the song title 'I Do It For You' by Nick Lachey.

here's a trick I love...
If you know a snippet of lyrics and you want to know who sang the song or name of song, google or other search:
[ lyric ] and [ words you recall ]
(enter: "lyric" along with the snippet you recall in search criteria)
Search will turn up various lyric or performer sites with the song (so you get the answer just from the search results list, but inevitably you'll want check out the complete lyrics), and additional search easily leads to other info about when released, what album, etc.

In this case ("everything I do...") the search also turns up various cover versions of the song by other artists, but when the original artist results appear it will likely trigger your memory and you'll know who was the original.

I work as a band manager, producer and songwriter. This trick has saved me lots of time.
