You'll have to get a bachelor's degree (perferably in something related to the health field such as biology or chemistry but it really doesn't matter that much).

Next you'll have to go to med school for at least fours. Afterwards you'll have to do and internship and your residency, which depending on your state certification procedures, could take anywhere from 3 to 4 additional years.

All in all to be an OB-GYN it takes about 10-11 years. Maybe a little less if you take AP or PSO courses and maybe a little more if you choose not to have a demanding college schedule.

Assuming you do all of your training in the United States, it should take approximately 12 years after you graduate from high school. You will need an undergraduate (bachelor's)degree, which should take roughly four years, an MD (doctor of medicine) that will take 4 years, and a residency in obstetrics/gynecology, which will also take about four years. It is during that time that you will actually learn the science and art of being an ob/gyn.
