Ok, this is an addition to another question I asked. The prfoblem was my real nail and the fake nails I had on both got almost ripped off but they are still attached at the very bottom. And since it hurted so much the night it happened I was just wrapping alcohol pads on it for bout an hour til my sister got home. When she got here it did not want to lift off, should I just wrap a bandage on it and let it heal in hope it will reattach and the fake nail will grow off??

Ok, so far I have got some answers but for some of them it makes me worry. You say take the fake nail all the way off but its attached to my real nail, and now they really wont lift from my skin. I see no way to take the fake one off being its on the real one, and no way to take they both off it wont lift.

Well. my sister had that twice so I know how to solve this. You should take off the nail if its loose(like a loose tooth). but if it's not loose my sister usually plays around with it to get it off so it won't be infected. Then in the end after you pull off the nail another one will grow back.

okay 1. it won't reattach

2. there is a chance its probably a dead nail now and should be removed.

if its dead and the new nail starts to grow, it will probably hurt.

I tried everything you are doing when the same thing happened to my toenail...but it just became yellow and dead, and it started hurting.. so I eventually took the bandaid off and cut the nail off and it grew back almost right away, however it took awhile for it to grow all the way down...

just keep it clean and covered until the skin heals.

I stubbed my toe and the nail came off after about two weeks, but a new one grew back and you can't tell the difference now.

rip off the fake one and then take care of your old one or you'll get an infection
