there is no right answer. this is purely subjective. it all depends on the situation. if someone accidentally bumps into you, you'd probably forgive AND forget. if someone intentionally hurts you, you might pretend to forgive him (so as not to make an enemy) but deep inside you may never forgive OR forget. forgetting would be harmful in this instance b/c history tends to repeat itself; by remembering what has happened you might be able to prevent it from happening again, given warning signs.

if you don't forgive someone, chances are you'll never forget what happened.

and if you forgive someone, chances are you'll forget what he did.

hope this helps.

Haven't you ever heard the old saying that "Forgiveness is something you do for yourself"? This is true because you let go of the anger but keep the memory of what happened as a life lesson. You are then a wiser person without the emotional baggage of the incident. Therefore, it is better to forgive and remember.

I think forgiving and remembering is better, because even if you forget, the pain will still be there in some form.

I trust what comes easier; which in this case would be forgive and remember. If someone does something bad to me, but there's value in preserving the friendship, what value is there in forgetting that person or his actions?

It's better to forgive and remember so a given situation doesn't happen again. If you have to forgive someone, then it means he or she is no longer worthy of 100% of your trust. I believe once someone burns a bridge, then it can never be completely rebuilt.
