Where was Mel Gibson's Apocalypto filmed? I know there were sets for the stone temples but where was the jungle scenes filmed?

Mel Gibson filmed Apocalypto mainly in Catemaco and Paso de Ovejas in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The opening date was actually pushed back as shooting was delayed due to heavy rains in the Mexican jungle.
