That sounds like a social studies question. Go do your own homework. I think they did because in world war 2 the president forced the integration of the army by presidential order. So yes they did. They've had government jobs ever since.

Not entirely, no. Perhaps for a while until they were once again put back in the role of being thought of as an ignorant race by the still remaining racists and ignorant people in this country. However, that also applies to Asians, Hispanics.
In this current year of 2006, they are much more considered a part of the US culture. Very glad for that.

To a certain extent they benefited because the sudden loss of the work force in the cities which created work for them, this allowed them to move from the rural areas to which they had largely been confined since emancipation. This also for the large part ended the sharecropping system which many people had been trapped in which was essentially slavery.

Absolutely. Many of the WWII soldiers who returned after fighting Hitler noted the hypocrisy and said they were determined to not go back to the status quo and hence you had the rumblings of the pre- civil rights era. Many were treated better in Europe than in their own country and frankly one can see how difficult it would be for decorated war veterans to go back to being second class ciizens.
