why do people always put up x-mas decorations in stores instead of Kwanza decorations or something?

There are more Christmas shoppers. If/when there are more Kwanza shoppers, the stores will be decorated for Kwanza.

Don't think the stores are making a religious statement. It's just advertising to them.
