All though they are stupid and pointless i still want to know what is indie?Could someone please descibe one for me and is it anything like emo?

As with many things, there is no 'black and white' when it comes to stereotyping. Most stereotypes, while possibly being false more often than not, do have a GRAIN of truth to them.
Take the stereotypes about men with long hair, for example... in the 1960s and 1970s, long-haired men were stereotyped as druggies and burn-outs... this was very often true, though! Long-haired men then were more likely to be drug-users than short-haired men, though certainly not all of them were. And nowadays, men with long hair may not be any more likely to use drugs than anyone else, but the stereotype persists because it was once true in part.
