How much a party school is the University of Georgia? And is Athens a real party school town? I'm looking into colleges and I don't want an unsafe campus/town b/c of all of the drinking. I've ruled out the University of Florida b/c of it. Any information will be appreciated.

Like most schools with large populations, UGA is a party school. But on the other hand, they are a great school with high rankings many several different fields. Also they have 24 hour campus surveillance and many other safety tactics to insure safety.

UGA is like a lot of other schools...there's partying there, if that's all your interested in and are looking for, and there are also lots of very serious students who work very hard. It's a fairly compact campus...with the city's main drag in very close walking distance...plus, there's a free shuttle...so you don't have a lot of drunk drivers. You'd like UGA, I think.

Prefer University of Mercer.
It is also in Georgia.
They have great parties; you never believe.
