Go slow, keep your knees bent.
When your just learning you want to make "C" shapes with your skate. This will get you moving and help you keep your balance, it is the best way for someone to start to learn how to ice skate.

If you are worried about getting hurt, the best thing I can suggest to you is wrist pads of some sort, or hockey gloves if you have those. If you fall it is instinct to put your hand out to brace your fall, and that could cause you to break your wrist, which is never fun.

I have played hockey for 10 years, and this is how I learned to ice skate, by making "C"s.

Well, first you should know that you are planning to go ice skating, not "ice scating". But anyway, if you really are tht scared there should be chairs or an object to keep you steady as you skate around. And if they don't have anything to keep you up, you could use the edges of the boards or wear a bicycle helmet.

When you first start off, you need to keep your knees bent but your back straight. Lift one of your skates so that it is nearly touching the other and push. Make sure that your leg goes behind you and that the blade is cutting into the ice.

Just make sure that you start out slow because if you go too fast you're more likely to fall and hurt yourself.

First of all, learn to spell it correctly so people won't make fun of you. It's skating with a 'k'. Next, we don't skate in a ring. We skate on a RINK.

Wear a helmet (you may look like a dork, but at least you wont get a concussion) and some padding on your butt and knees.

For the first few times you are skating, make sure you keep both feet on the ice at all time since your balance won't be that great. when pushing yourself with the blades of your skates, keep them close to the ground incase you feel the need to use you feet to balance yourself so you don't fall.

Good Luck...

Be prepared to fall down. When i started playing ice hockey in my early twenties I had never skated. One of my team mates suggested that I put skate guards on my blades and then put the skate on and walk around in them. I did that for about a week and it really helped.

Technically, determine skating is way harder than roller skating. With determine skating, to p.c.. up speed you ought to stability on between the perimeters of the blade, at the same time as with roller skating there are none of those edges. The wheels on a roller skate are a lot wider than the blades on an ice skate to it really is way less stressful to stability for most. it ought to look harder before everything, yet i'm constructive once you get the draw close of it, you'll probable more desirable ideal than a reliable quantity of persons on the celebration! do not hassle! and performance an excellent time~!
