My birthday is tomorrow and i'm so depressed. It always happens to me every year. I look forward to my birthday all year, and when it comes i'm super down. Not only that, but tomorrow is my 21st birthday and i'm having a super huge party tonight and still I feel down. I wonder why? Any thoughts?

Having a birthday so close to Christmas sometimes is
depressing because there is so much going on at that time/and you are having the normal year older feeling.
You will be fine by tonight especially when your friends show you
how much they love and care about you. friends can always make
you feel better.
Happy Birthday

Be thankful for your family and friends that are throwing your party. Many people don't even get a party. Maybe by looking forward to it so much, you create unrealistic expectations for yourself. Then when the day comes, you're disppointed.

How much emphasis and enormity are you putting on throughout the year for this one point in time?

You need to stop focusing on "your" day so much throughout, and try to focus on other things throughout the year.

I rarely focus on my birthday until about a month or 2, because it becomes inevitable. But I try to find other things to involve my time in, to give of myself, because then, when it comes to "me" time, I feel I have earned some of the attention, by having given so much of myself throughout the year.

Volunteer with some charity work, or church work. Focus on things other than yourself.

Try to plant seeds of kindness, love, and other such positive things, and as that grows around you, you will find yourself less depressed about yourself.

You should be happy and thankful! A lot of people in deprived, underdeveloped areas in the world don't see their 21st birthday, so be joyful.

Plus you can drink. ;)
