Leo DiCaprio & Claire Danes did a great job in the modern version. I think Jake Gylenllaal (unsure of the spelling sorry!) would make a great Romeo. Very intense. Superb actor. I love Leelee Sobieski. She's a great actress and very beautiful. Of course Romeo & Juliet are supposed to be in their early teens. I don't know of any actors that young...

Hmm. Most of the performers that I can think of are just too old. I would go with two unknowns. But since you want pictures, I have to pick established performers.

So, just because she has a movie coming out right now, and is the right age to be Juliet, I pick Dakota Fanning. That's right, she seems tiny and young, but she was born in February, 1994. Which means she's almost 13. Just a year younger than Juliet. And by the time the play was produced, she'd certainly be old enough. And isn't part of the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet their youth?

For Romeo? Well, his age is never actually mentioned in the play. I think we can assume that he's probably a few years older than Juliet.

So I went to the IMDb website, and looked up performers who were born in the year 1992. A few looked possible. Dylan Smith (III) looks like he'll be a future heart throb, has appeared in a major movie and would be dark to Juliet's fair, so I pick him. No other reason.
