9. I was raised to treat a woman like a lady. Part of that is to provide for her so she doesn't "have" to work. I think it is 100% a man's job to support his family..even if he has to work two jobs.

Now if a woman "wants" to work... that is totally up to her. She just shouldn't "have to"!

And if she makes more money than the man that's OK too. I can't stand guys who let their frail little egos get in the way of their wife's success.

I think it depends on the situation. If no children are involved than its 50-50. but if there is young children that are not in school yet then the men should be the main supporter because the woman needs to take care of the child. once the child starts school then she should find a job immediatly though.

(7)...because I still live in the latter part of the generation which accepts the man, or husband, to be the head of the household and taking on the responsibility of providing for his family. But, since this question/opinion is being asked in our day and time, I would have to give credit to those households making more progress and partnership through a joint income with her, or the wife, also contributing to this responsibility these days as well! Both ways work for me so I'm scoring high, thanks!

I think 0. I think that in this day and age, it is silly to think that the woman should stay home with the kids, and the man should be the "breadwinner". We need to break down these silly stereotypes. I am a well-paid professional, and my husband stays home with my son. He is not less or more of a man because of this, and I am just as greatful for him being a terrific father to him as I would be if he was raking in the dough.

I agree. Men should be the main supporter. I think that if a women were making more money the man might feel inferior.

I guess, but then women would be all "we can support the family too" blah blah blah. Then they might even choose to end the human race in spite. Bad idea. I am a woman yes, but i'm not all crazy about proving myself like some of them are♥
