I am looking for a desktop replacement and have been looking at the Dell XPS 1710 and XPS2010. The 2010 looks brilliant, but the 1710 seems to have a better graphics card and is cheaper.

I would like to know which is the best all-round laptop as a desktop replacement? I am open to suggestions regarding any make/price etc - it does not have to be just about the two XPS models.

Thanks

If you get a Dell make sure you buy the extra warranty.. I know i needed it when I bought mine..that thing went back every few months.

Dell Inspiron 1100 is best bet. Maybe good bargain at auction w/o sale fee.

I'd recommend a black MacBook or a MacBook Pro. These are both excellent, high-powered laptops.
