Imagine, if you will, what would happen to the world if the terrorists have their way and America is brought to its knees. The American economy crashes and the wealthiest country on earth evaporates. The country which is the largest market for trade goods is gone. The country which led the world in advancements in science, medicine, and aid to impoverished nations falls victim to its enemy. Just what would the world be like afterward?
I wonder if the rest of the world has pondered that question?

The answer lies in how quickly America were to diminish in influence. If it happened quickly, through a devasting military or terrorist attack or some other unimagineable circumstance, it would immediately cause worldwide economic chaos and panic The world finanacial markets would largely collapse overnight along with most International currency transfers (currently valued at $1 trillion every night) followed by an unprecedented amount of regional wars and skirmishes that are currently prevented by U.S. defense agreements. For example China may take avantage of the situation and invade Taiwan, Japan and S. Korea will quickly rearm with nuclear weapons (this will probably happen anyway) to counter a nuclear armed China and DPRK, Syria and Iran would surely attack Israel and make good on their promise to "wipe Israel off the face of the map". Countries rich in natural resources and food would horde their food supply leading to mass starvation in poor countries that currently depend on foreign aid. On the positive side, oil prices would plunge back to $10 a barrel, so industrial countries that would no longer have to compete with American goods would be the big winners.

It would be dominated by dictators the likes of Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein and Lenin to name a few. Countries which are starving and dependent on America for financial aid would be out of luck. The world would be technically 50 years in the past, as many of the modern inventions that mankind relies on never would have been invented. Without Americas help the UK would have fell under pressure from the Germans. Without Americas help France would have never been liberated from the Nazis. There were over 6000 American casualties on D-Day in a effort to liberate France from the Germans. There is no doubt, a world without America would be much worse of a place to live.

This question is on my mind a great deal when I am on this site.

I'm sure our fellow Americans believe they are exercising their rights to free speech, but their vituperatives and insults seem only to decrease the value of the US.

I wonder how the world views this.
