I'm getting really upset with myself because my partner is having to constantly support us. Every job I've had I seem to piss off the wrong people and don't know how. I'm really bright and bubbly. My family and friends tell me it's because I'm really pretty and that they are jealous. But I'm saick of hearing that. I was a drug addict who lived on the streets and shot up but now I've been clean for 3 years and I'm getting married in may. I've never been happier but at work I feel it's trivial b*llsh*t that I'm getting shafted because of. I can't afford to study because of my trouble with work. I'm an honest hardworking employee. I've been told I can rub people up the wrong way. I'm nice and just want to have a job I can go to with out all the rubbish. Any advice or has anybody else gone through the same thing? I work in hospitality...

I have a friend that was the same way. She was a pretty girl but she could not keep a job. She would always say that she had problems with co workers. They would piss her off. I came to the conclusion that it was her. I don't want to sound judgemental, but I think its you. You have a lot of anger and you need to learn to let trivial issues at work just roll off your back. I imagine you have had a hard life and there is still some anger. Try working in an environment where you don't have to deal with the public so much. I know its tough since the only jobs out there are in the service field. I also think you should talk to someone. Maybe a counselor or anger management classes. I believe you will feel a lot better once you understand why you feel so angry. Good luck.

Fake documents and greedy employers. Many greedy employers with low morals get rich by hiring illegals. Can you imagine what the U.S. would look like if all employers though hiring illegals was acceptable. Also, remember, there are NO jobs Americans won't do. Americans just expect to be paid what the job is worth. The vast majority of the crap jobs, including farm labor, is done by Americans are legal immigrants, not illegal invaders. I've never met an American that couldn't outwork an illegal any day of the week. After all, if illegals were so hard working, they would work hard at coming the legal way, not committing fraud and screwing over other nations.

When they fire you, you should pay close attention to what they tell you.
I dont know what you did, so I can't comment about it.
I would not tell anyone about the past substance abuse issues, unless they ask, and they really need to know, because that can cause some of us to be prejudiced against you.
It sounds like you can express yourself pretty well, as In my work I have had white and asian, black,e tc. secretaries that just had no mastery of the english language, but that isnt a problem for you.
Even though people will say they are fairl, frankly some people just wont like you for their own reasons, dont try to figure them out, just try to find out what it is specifically what they dont like about you, and move on.
Dont give up, it sounds like you are on the right track.

first of CONGRATULATIONS on been sober, I too was an addict and am clean for 31/2 years it's hard keep it up, as far as work gos, maybe you should try not to have any "relations" at work, keep to yourself and don't get too invovled with your co workers, I had the same prob, and someone told me that it's cause they were jealous of me, I was cuter, nicer, bubblier, and had a better body than them....they were straight up B!tches, so I disassociated myself from all the drama did my work went home and so forth andit was a lot better....good luck and congrats on getting married

It probably won't be fun but go back to one of your employers and ask them. It is really hard for us to know in just a paragraph. Good luck.

Apparently your experiences while taking drugs has hardened you to some degree and you have become somewhat intolerant and less feminine...Hopefully you will soften back up in time...
