Also, if you don't mind saying, what is your income? I'm wondering if people who make more money always have other people do their car maintenance / repair for them.

I do as much work on my own car as I can, most garages are rip off merchants who change parts even though they are ok.

Ive taken my car to a well know repair chains (ungar,Pitstop.. etc) for a sommer check, oil change etc because it was cheaper than doing it myself. They gave me a list back which basically said I was driving arround in a death trap and everything was knackered, suspension, brakes etc, etc..

Luckily I know a bit about cars myself and I had done the brakes and suspension new myself a few months before hand.

Its even worse if a women takes the car in like my wife did once and they tried to REALLY rip us off.

My advice, do it yourself or get a close friend you can trust who knows what he´s doing do it for you.

It doesn´t matter how much anyone earns, even if I was a millionaire I wouldn´t let these con men rip me off 1 cent.

I work on my own car most of the time. Mainly because I can do the job myself and be finished long before the shops. Plus it seems every time I have trouble it is in the middle of the night or I am in the middle of the woods so I have to fix it myself. or I am stuck.
But if weather is bad (cold rainging sleeting snowing) and have been working a lot of long hours take it to shop.
As far as oil changes I normally have them done because of the warranty.

Oh! heard some stuff about man, don't click on his site. Heard it has spam and worms.
