I told my boyfriend that I want a set of Red underbody neon light kits to put under my car.. I'm just wondering if anyone has had them before, as to how durable these lights are under your car.. assuming you just drive on regular roads everyday?

My car isn't lowered.. but I do intend to drive the car every day.. just on highway roads, and only plan to have the lights on at night.. So, any advice, should I get them for my car or no? Given that it will be drove everyday on highways, I want them to last, but in honest opinion if having them installed right like under the crevace somewhere under the doors isn't going to protect them, I don't want them.. I did speak with someone who had them on a camero and said they went everywhere and beyond with them on their car and they were fine.. and someone who had them on a truck and went down to bottoms doing doughnuts etc. and to this day are still on that truck and working..

I thought the plastic that covers these lights were pretty durable though? With pretty thick covering

These lights, frankly, are more for show than go, and are designed for cars that aren't driven a lot (although the guy selling them will tell you they're just fine for daily driver cars). Using them on a daily driver will shorten their lifespan due to shock from driving over bumps, potholes, etc., and moisture infiltration. The secret to these underbody lights is to a) make sure they are SECURELY mounted, and b) minimize exposure to water/moisture by mounting them in as protected an area as possible. Having them installed by a professional is highly recommended. Good Luck and Happy Holidays.

I would have to say that if they are installed right, that you should have them for a long time. you have to consider how low your car is, and have to know how to drive with a lowered car.
