I also had gestational diabetes. The insulin saves the baby and you. I had to learn how to draw the 2 different kinds of insulin, and give myself the shots, mostly in the arm. Then I had to take blood tests with the little machine thing about 4 or 5 x per day.

I had to write everything down, as I forgot when and if I actually gave myself the shots. It changed almost every other day based on the self-testing method results given to the doctor.
I had to keep track of the amounts given, and any changes made, and report that daily.

You're already 30 weeks, and that's very good.

Since it's happening to you, and it's to save your baby, don't listen to other comments except from the doctors and nurses.

You should also get nutritional help.
No white sugar, no ice cream with sugar, no sugar substitutes,
yes, that meant oatmeal in the morning with no sugar, and all fruit was eaten after I had protein and milk. They stopped all fruit juice also, just whole pieces of fruit after the meal.

Best of luck, and after the pregnancy, I still get tested and so far, it was only gestational diabetes, and that was 18 years ago, as she just turned 17.

GOD bless.
