Also squeaks in reverse. Only while moving or releasing the brake. Never when applying the brakes. Checked and brakes are fine, shop replaced the bearings and CV boot, but still squeaking. Mechanic also checked the struts, fine. Removed control arm thinking it was a broken bolt but that's not it either. I've taken this to three different mechanic's and nobody can find the problem. HELP!!!!

Some things to check for problems or improper lubrication, in order:
1. Tie rods (inner and outer)
2. Ball joints (if your vehicle has them)
3. Upper AND lower control arms AND BUSHINGS
4. Sway bar and bushings
5. All springs and mounts
6. CV joint itself (not just the boot)
7. Steering components/knuckle

I'm thinking it's one of the first three. Take it to a good mechanic.

Hope this info helped.

Can the problem be duplicated by pushing up and down on the front of the vehicle?

Sway bar bushings are common source of noise as is a dry balljoint or tie rod.

and find a better mechanic...
