I assume that you are in the USA. If you are buying a house in a subdivision, you are likely to be asked to select a lot from a "plat plan" of the subdivision. Essentially, a plat plan is a map of the subdivision with the boundary lines of the individual lots drawn to scale. The lengths and direction of the lot lines are usually indicated as well as the area of the lot. The area is almost always expressed as area in square feet and in acerage.

An acre contains 43,560 square feet. If you buy a perfectly rectangular lot that is 100' x 250', it contains 25,000 square feet. If you divide 25,000 by 43,560, you get .5793 for an answer. In other words, your lot is .5793 acres which is a little over a half an acre.

As for "lot size 10", I can't answer your question. It could refer to a particular lot size as determined by the land developer or the builder. This question is best answered by the builder or real estate agent you are working with.

Good luck with your land purchase.

Lot size is usually the dimensions of the lot. Maybe they numbered the lots by approximate size and they have a key somewhere telling what a 10 lot equals. This might apply if it were part of an allotment.
