If you deduct for the thickness of your saw blade by 1/16 inch per cut, you will get approx.10 pcs. Now this depends on what the material of the pipe is and if you use a pipe cutter or an actual saw blade. If the blade takes away from the material, deduct per cut, if not you will get 14. Watch you fingers.

Assuming your cuts have zero thickness, you can cut thirteen. 7/8 inch = 14/16th inch. When you have twelve pieces, your piece of pipe is 1/8 inch thick. You can cut one more 1/16th inch piece u8ntil the remainder is, itself, 1/16th of an inch thick. You can consider that a piece as well, but it was not "cut from" the original piece, it's what's left over.

14 But ine needs to allow for the thickness of the saw blade and subtract that thickness times 5. So probably more like 12 or 13.
