It is rigged, and cleverly. They always keep people like Chico in, because he is tabloid gold. They cant change the phone voting, because that would be a breach in trade descriptions or some such (you do pay for the vote, after all). But with clever editing, song selections, styling decisions and so on, you can make people appeal to the public or not. Ultimately Its all about making the money for the judges and programme makers.

I def think its rigged as well! You dont actually get to know specific percentgaes or anything like that, they can so easily just put thru whoever they want, in the middle weeks to keep ppl watching the show, and in later weeks putting thru those they; be anle to make money from.

But the main issue is whether Leona wins or not she already has a contract with Simon Cowell, come on hes had her signed up from day one dont u think!!!

Ugh shes so samey, tuneful voice yes, nut like so many others, and shes such a one trick pony. Apart from one cringeworthy up tempo number (lady marmalade) what else has she ever done but ballads tht let her be emotional. Take away the ballad being a slightly sad number and she'd just be a robt, may be better than the laughable emotion tho, soooo inappropriate. Vacant springs to mind when i think of her!

All of those reality shows are rigged. From "Survivor" to "Dancing With The Stars".

On MSNBC one night they told how on "American Idol" in the credits it states that they reserve the right to chose the winner no matter how the voting actually goes.

It's all about getting and keeping viewers because that's what advertisers pay for isn't it? And to do that, you keep the suspense going as long as possible. That means you can't have a clear cut winner too soon or no one will tune in!

I don't think there would be any benefit to rigging it. The acts that were popular will have a least one hit after Xmas and with the tour as promotion you're sure to see a few of them in the charts in 2007.

Of course its fixed, the true talent of last year Brenda didnt win and now look back at who has doen the best from that bunch.

Leona has been the only true talent this year, Ray is entertaining in a wierd muchkin way, but is now puching well above his weight, but I am sure he is getting the granny vote as the sweet little grandson they all wanted!!!!!

I used to think that it was fixed but now I'm not so sure. If it were rigged I cannot understand why they would rig it to have such a colourless final.

course its a fix....notice how the ugly ones that can sing never make it? as everyone is claiming simon wants his girl to win, she wont...... but she will still get the deal anyway (so whats the point)...and ray will win and then put out a few cover versions and finish up at butlins.

You're probably right. Leona won't win because little Eddie Munster cries like the true actor that he is (he's won 4 soap awards you know).
