What side does your tassel go on before you actually graduate?

I am Graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Plattevile in a few short hours and I can't for the life of me remember what side your tassel has to be on BEFOR you graduate. I tried to think back to my high school graduation but I must have drank too much beer in college to remember. :)

I don't think it should really matter to you. I graduated last year and They told us all before commencement began, so don't worry about it.

The right.
Moving it to the left reflects receiving the diploma or degree.
