Just disconnect the battery overnight. Touching them together does not work.

Get your ignition change checked. I actually have a 2000 SE Grand Prix and whilst i could have it in park i could no longer get the foremost out. Our project became the ignition change. Then it occurred back a three hundred and sixty 5 days later and it became by using battery!

If the correct problem was fixed, the light will go off on its own after the computer has went through a few cycles. Or, you can buy an OBD-II reader and shut it off yourself, or your local auto zone can shut it off. But remember, if you did not fix the correct problem (i.e. maybe only fixed what you THOUGHT it was) it will only come back on. Good Luck!!!

Take the batt cables off and connect them together for 15 minutes. this should clear the codes. only other way is with a scan tool.
